The Art of the Long Lunch
Seasonal food, good company, and nowhere else to be.
A long lunch is less about the food than the time around it. Still, the food matters: tomatoes still warm from the garden, bread from the village, olive oil pressed a few kilometres away.
Courses that arrive slowly
At The Garden Table, plates come out when they are ready and conversations are allowed to wander. Nobody checks the time, and nobody is asked to.
By the time coffee arrives, the shade has moved across the table and the afternoon has quietly arranged itself.
